Authentic Phuket Tours - Chinese New Year
If you would like an authentic Phuket tour and would like to immerse yourself into Phuket's culture; you should experience Chinese New Year.
Chinese New Year, traditionally begins on the first day of the first lunar month. This year the Chinese New Year falls on 3rd February 2011.
Chinese New Year is a very popular festival, this is due to there being a large Chinese population in Thailand and also as many Thai’s are of Chinese descent.
Celebrations will be taking place across the many Chinese Temples in Phuket. Running alongside the New Year celebration is the, "Old Phuket Town Festival".
There are lively celebrations and colourful dragon and lion processions taking place in Phuket Town. The dragon and lion dances are traditionally performed to ward off evil spirits.
You may also enjoy local entertainment, ending in a firework display. If you are in Phuket around 3rd February why not come and celebrate the “Year of the Rabbit” and the Old Phuket Town Festival?
